Columbia Sportswear 2021 | Brand Focus

29.10.21 General

Coming into those winter months, it’s quite possibly the best time to shed light on a brand you should consider to have within your winter rotation. Where to begin when it comes to Columbia Sportswear… Based in the Pacific North-West, the brand began life back in the 1930’s and ever since they began, Columbia have continued to be at the forefront when it comes to innovating and exploring the world of the outdoors garments and footwear.

As mentioned, with the brand being based in the Pacific North-West, you can only imagine the amount of rich forests, snow covered mountains and rugged coastline that lays on their doorstep and it’s this terrain that has helped Columbia Sportswear become experts within the world of outdoors for 80 years!

Though Soho doesn’t quite have those luxuries, London does boast some of the most unique patches of scenery based within it. Whether thats Epping Forest, Hampstead Heath or Richmond, there is plenty of places to test Columbias latest offerings. For Fall 2021, we headed out to Richmond Park with the Columbia Flow Asphalt and Flow Borough Low to see how they’d fair up on the wet, muddy terrain.

Both silhouettes utilise a chunky, rugged outsole and both focus their attention on usability and function with the idea of tackling all conditions in mind. The uppers are both constructed from a mixture of mesh suedes that make the most of waterproof protection and non-marking traction rubber.

adidas Originals Consortium 4D x Footpatrol | SOLD-OUT

Introducing the adidas Originals Consortium 4D x Footpatrol. Born from Light.

CONSORTIUM4D is a concept shaped by light, liquid and oxygen. Combining the worlds of the natural and the technological to birth a shoe unlike any other. Featuring the world’s first high performance midsole crafted with light, liquid and oxygen. Its single component design is precisely tuned for controlled energy return, providing lasting cushioning and stability for any activity. Pioneered by carbon this breakthrough 3D printing process transforms liquids into solids.

The adidas Consortium 4D / Footpatrol shoe draws inspiration from the theory of colour harmony. Using the colour wheel as a guide during the design process, we selected an array of tertiary and secondary shades of green that blends harmoniously in a knit construction. The three-stripe Adidas branding features on both the medial and lateral panels of the shoe, screen printed in White on the medial and Black on the opposing lateral. Embroidered thread is stitch in a block form overlapping the knitted upper and synthetic suede heel counter. The Footpatrol Gasmark logo is situated on the embroidered Consortium label loop and heel of the footbed. The shoe is completed using a Continental rubber outsole for added traction.

To release this project we have partnered with London Design Festival and artist Ben Cullen Williams to bring you an immersive journey through Futurecraft innovation.

Ben Cullen Williams is a London based visual artist. His work consists of installations, sculptures, photographs and films that aim to create an engagement with the phenomenological elements of the world around us – light, space, material and form. His work draws on a range of fabrication processes from physical to digital to understand our changing relationship to the world in an increasingly digitalised environment.

The exhibition will be hosted during LDF at 15 Bateman Street, Soho. The exhibit will be open to the public on Friday 21st – Saturday 22nd September.

The Footpatrol Consortium 4D is now SOLD OUT.

Nike Zoom Spectrum Plus | Now Available

17.08.18 General

Nike Zoom Spectrum Plus

Originally released in 2003, it initially served as footwear for Japanese runners who required more motion control and structure while the aesthetics were inspired by hot-rod drag racing culture hence the notable flames on the upper.

The silhouette made its return on the scene in 2018 with a collaboration with NYC skate brand Supreme, in which it saw the OG colour making its way back up as well as a new colourway in Black. Coming off the back of those releases, Nike have quickly returned with 2 more new colourways.

To some, the OG aesthetics may seem bold, although, these two colourways are bolder. Still featuring its signature flames the original design however, is overpowered by newly displayed graphics, respectively. One silhouette contains a mixture of Court Purple and Deep Royal Blue along with a blend of patterns in different varieties. There are hints of palm trees and skylines as well as checkerboard displays on the inner lining. A midsole in Geyser Grey and a Japanese kanji appears on the tongue and heel which translates to “War”.

The other pair alongside this silhouette contains similar graphics with hints of palm trees but with areal views of a cityscape in the night. With a mixture of Melon Tint and Palest Purple, like its counterpart, this too sits atop a Geyser Grey midsole and includes the Japanese kanji on tongue and heel.

Nike Zoom Spectrum is now available online. Sizes range from UK5.5 – UK12 (including half sizes), priced at £130.
