Nike’s recent collaboration with Samuel Ross’ A-COLD-WALL* brought the high-performance Zoom Vomero 5 back onto the streetwear stage after a considerable hiatus on the sidelines. The bold overhaul polarised opinions, with people displaying mixed emotions on the oversized moulded heel piece. Following this controversial edition, Nike has released a couple of pared-back iterations, bringing the silhouette back to its sporty roots.

Martine Rose x Nike Air Monarch | Now Available

During an interview with Nike, Martine explains: “I have never been interested in fashion. I’ve always been interested in how people interact with clothes”. Martine’s dedication to exploring the relationship between humans and their clothes has become the focal point of her coveted collections and has led the revered figure to become a leading influencer in the clamorous British fashion industry. Her collections possess the ability to not only influence and shape trends, but to shock and surprise, and this unique aptitude is on full display with her partnership with Nike this season.

Imparting her creative vision on the on-trend Air Monarch IV, Martine reimagines the classic ‘dad’ shoe by enlarging the Monarch’s uppers to lofty new heights. The bold design was birthed when experimentation led to taking a size 18 upper and fitting onto a size 9; according to Rose, the only previous Nike silhouette which mirrored the construct was the Nike Air Foamposite.

Arriving in an assortment of eye-catching colourways, the patent leather sneaker is defined by its distorted proportions to the lateral and medial sides. The pair also boasts Swoosh branding to the sidewalls while an exclusive Martine Rose signature adorns each sidewall. Signing the silhouette off in style, Air cushioning is embedded into the midsole, delivering supreme support and cushioning for your everyday outings.

adidas by UNDEFEATED F/W ’18 | Now available

07.11.18 General

Long-time partners adidas and UNDEFEATED continue their sports-fashion crossover collaboration for AW18. The fervently anticipated capsule fuses key adidas technologies with the tough, urban aesthetics of UNDFTD – which have been paramount to the LA label since they were birthed in 2002.

The collection is a symbolic toast to human endurance and takes inspiration by those who run under midnight streetlights or train in the twilight of an emerging urban sunrise. It’s for those who get the workout done, no matter what.

This idea is captured in the range’s bold greyscale camouflage patterns and the campaign imagery itself, which homes in on the regime of Pedro ‘Lil Pete’ Duran – a Californian athlete who has been sponsored by UNDEFEATED since he was just twelve years old. The result is a climactic clash of two unforgivingly robust worlds, rendered in low-fidelity images which evoke an intensely personal pursuit.

The functional ideals of the capsule are given clarity throughout a star-studded line-up of pioneering performance technologies. The footwear silhouettes are engineered with adidas’ ultra-responsive BOOST cushioning midsole, and Primeknit uppers also feature to ensure sock-like comfort. The range’s selection of apparel includes a minimalist jacket which boasts the water-resistant, breathable capabilities of GORE-TEX.

adidas by UNDEFEATED FW18 will be available for purchase Online and in-store on November 9.
