Everyone will remember the fan fare that came with the launch of the original adidas NMD R1 back in late 2015. What was a limited release, the NMD R1 continued on with the craze and the need for a lifestyle sneaker that offer a super lightweight, comfortable sock like look and feel. The NMD R1 was all those things wrapped up in one simplistic package.
Listening to the demand, adidas set about continuing to tell the NMD story with the introduction of the NMD Chukka, the NMD City Sock and even letting frequent collaborators like Pharrell Williams loose on the sneaker which in turn, brought another round of hype towards the silhouette.
Now into 2022 and adidas see this as the perfect time to reimagine the NMD and how the NMD should look and feel in the modern day. So with that, we introduce you to the NMD S1.
You can clearly see a new approach has been taken however, there is a clear DNA in place with its lightweight upper and contrasting, chunkier midsole that speaks true to that original NMD R1. Bringing the NMD into the modern day, the visible BOOST has now become encaged within a sleek, aerodynamic midsole with semi transparent properties that follows through into the Three Stripes on within the Primeknit upper.
Take a closer look at the adidas NMD S1 below and stay tuned for further launch information coming soon!

The YEEZY Slide features injected EVA foam for lightweight durability, whilst the soft top layer in the footbed offers immediate step in comfort. The outsole utilises strategically mapped grooves for optimal comfort and traction.

When it comes to collaborations, adidas are often known for thinking outside the box and are often welcoming in new members to the Adidas family. The newest of those is Midwest Kids. Founded by designer, Darryl Brown, the former Kanye West stylist creates collections that are made to be timeless. Not just for the now, but for future generations to come. All the collections to date have been built on inspiration that has come from all the people he’s met across the States and learning about each individuals stories.
Now teaming up with the German giants, adidas have Midwest Kids loose on a collection thats inspired by vintage B-Ball. With apparel serving as part of the collection, the main feature within the collaboration has to be the Forum ’84 Low. Combining an archival design with the timeless vision of Midwest Kids, the Forum ’84 Low brings a vintage college feel with the help of hairy suedes and the Forums chunky gum sole taking dominance.
Bringing a customisable aspect to the collection, adding to that timeless ethos, the Forums iconic ankle straps come in a mix of colours ready to be swapped out at any point.
The Midwest Kids x adidas Originals collection is now available to shop in-store and online (Apparel online only), click here to shop!

Introducing the adidas Originals Consortium 4D x Footpatrol. Born from Light.
CONSORTIUM4D is a concept shaped by light, liquid and oxygen. Combining the worlds of the natural and the technological to birth a shoe unlike any other. Featuring the world’s first high performance midsole crafted with light, liquid and oxygen. Its single component design is precisely tuned for controlled energy return, providing lasting cushioning and stability for any activity. Pioneered by carbon this breakthrough 3D printing process transforms liquids into solids.
The adidas Consortium 4D / Footpatrol shoe draws inspiration from the theory of colour harmony. Using the colour wheel as a guide during the design process, we selected an array of tertiary and secondary shades of green that blends harmoniously in a knit construction. The three-stripe Adidas branding features on both the medial and lateral panels of the shoe, screen printed in White on the medial and Black on the opposing lateral. Embroidered thread is stitch in a block form overlapping the knitted upper and synthetic suede heel counter. The Footpatrol Gasmark logo is situated on the embroidered Consortium label loop and heel of the footbed. The shoe is completed using a Continental rubber outsole for added traction.
To release this project we have partnered with London Design Festival and artist Ben Cullen Williams to bring you an immersive journey through Futurecraft innovation.
Ben Cullen Williams is a London based visual artist. His work consists of installations, sculptures, photographs and films that aim to create an engagement with the phenomenological elements of the world around us – light, space, material and form. His work draws on a range of fabrication processes from physical to digital to understand our changing relationship to the world in an increasingly digitalised environment.
The exhibition will be hosted during LDF at 15 Bateman Street, Soho. The exhibit will be open to the public on Friday 21st – Saturday 22nd September.
The Footpatrol Consortium 4D is now SOLD OUT.
