New Balance 1500 30th Anniversary | 1500 and 1530 Now Available

28.02.19 General

Few silhouettes are as iconic as the New Balance 1500. The understated runner provides the perfect blend of aesthetic and function, and has become synonymous with the New Balance brand.

First introduced in 1989 as part of the now widely known ‘Made in England’ range which (as the name would suggest) is produced and manufactured entirely in Flimby, England. Despite 30 years worth of technical advances the approach to creating the NB1500 hasn’t changed. Each pair is still handmade by a team of over 200 dedicated and expert staff at the New Balance factory, just off the coast of Cumbria.

Combine this human touch, and the attention to detail that comes with it, with the clean and timeless look of the shoe itself and it’s easy to see why it’s had such longevity. The 1500 has transcended the running subculture and has been adopted by everyone, from hardcore sneakerheads to indie kids, drawn to the shoe’s retro aesthetic.

To celebrate the shoe’s 30th anniversary New Balance have reissued the classic navy blue colour-way of the 1500 and introduced a brand new silhouette, the 1530.

Featuring the same basic aesthetic as the 1500 combine with elevated technology and a subtle redesign, the 1530 is the perfect modern homage to a classic. The 1530 comes dressed in the inverse colour-way of the OG 1500, making the parallels between the two all the more apparent.

The New Balance 1500 and 1530 will be available in-store and online Saturday 2nd March. Sizes range from UK6 – UK12 (including half sizes), priced at £150. For more information about in-store sizes please call 020 7287 8094.

Nike Gyakusou Air Zoom Pegasus 35 Turbo | Now Available

27.02.19 General

The Nike Gyakusou range was born out of a desire to go against the conventions of running wear, and redefine the boundaries of practical fashion.

The name roughly translate to ‘reverse running’ and is a nod to the running habits of brand director Jun Takahashi. While the etiquette in Tokyo’s Yoyogi Park is to run clockwise Takahashi runs counter-clockwise, which is a fitting metaphor for the direction the brand takes.

To usher in the warmer weather and the much coveted Spring runs, Gykausou have put their spin on some lighter Nike silhouettes – the Zoom Vaporfly 4% and Air Zoom Pegasus 35 Turbo – with the latter of two perfectly personifying the direction of the collections design.

The Nike Gyakusou Air Zoom Pegasus 35 Turbo features co-branding throughout, a supportive ZoomX midsole, traction focused rubber outsole and unique toggle lacing system. Both colour-ways of the Air Zoom Pegasus 35 will be available online Thursday 28th February from 8AM with sizes ranging from UK6 – UK12 (including half sizes), priced at £170.

Nike Air Zoom Alpha OG | Now Available

26.02.19 General

Proprietary cushioning from toe to heel.

Originally released in 1996, the Nike Zoom Alpha was the first shoe to use Zoom Air technology. With a Zoom Air unit that runs from the heel to the forefoot, it delivers the same aesthetic and feel as the original.

The inception of Zoom Air, the slim Air bag that utilized tensile fibers, allowed Nike to experiment with creating a zonal platform of cushioning that would be applied in relation to the specific needs of a sport.

For the first-ever running shoe powered by this new innovation, Nike chose to create tactically arranged pods of Zoom in four anatomically urgent zones, creating a unique support system that would later inform the future iterations of Air technology.

The silhouette is making its first-ever return in its original navy and orange colourway, you may recognize the midsole due to the proliferation of Zoom Spiridon models that have appeared over the last year and a half, but it is indeed the Alpha that is the original of the two of this design.

Nike Air Zoom Alpha OG launches in-store and online Thursday 28th February. Sizes range from UK6 – UK11 (including half sizes), priced at £120.

Nike React WR ISPA Low | Now Available

22.02.19 General

Over the last couple of years Nike have been slowly merging their performance and lifestyle lines, to the point where the lines between what is everyday and what is functional are now blurred. This is because functionality isn’t something that should be left on the running track or on a hiking trail, functionality is needed in day to day life. It is this thinking that has inspired the ISPA collection.

ISPA stands for “Improvise, Scavenge, Protect and Adapt” and is essentially a philosophy that suggests that in a society that is constantly changing it is necessary to be able to change with it and adapt to overcome any obstacle.

The latest Nike silhouette to receive this elevated design approach is the React Element 87 which will be releasing on Saturday 23rd February. The Nike React WR ISPA Low features a deconstructed aesthetic water-resistant upper and the comforting and stability provided by Nike React technology.

The shoe comes in three colour-ways – Summit White/Deep Royal, Velvet Brown and Black/Gun Smoke – and will be available in-store and online 23.2.19. Sizes range from UK6 – UK11 (including half sizes), priced at £140.

adidas Consortium FYW-97 ‘Running White/Red’ | Now Available

15.02.19 General

adidas continue to delve into their archives to inspire their retros by giving them an updated look such as the adidas Consortium ZX4000. Their newest release is the adidas FYW -S97 also known as the adidas Salvation 0G is no exception.

Initially released in 1997, this running model was the first to utilise adidas’ Feetyouwear technology. At the time, most running shoes across the board featured square-cut outsoles which caused injuries leading to ankle roll and other motion related injuries. The solution was to strip away the squared outsoles and produce wide, lower-to-the-ground soles that curved from outsole to midsole. The result was a new silhouette that featured an EVA midsole and Adiprene insert further added to the shoes ahead of its time ideas and the shape of the outsole foresaw the evolution to barefoot-style running shoes.

The upper is dressed in a timeless White colourway with red and blue hits. Combined with leather overlays and mesh underlays along with wired eye-stays for lockdown and the ‘Freddie’ faced logo.  Further technology that is utilised from the original to the current SS19 release is the use of Torsion system. This innovation bridges the gap between the rear foot and forefoot to allow each part of the foot to move independently without straining.

adidas Consortium FYW S-97 ‘Running White/Red’ is now available in-store and online. Sizes range from UK6 – UK12 (including half sizes), priced at £140.
