The North Face VECTIV Elvira Pack | Now Available!

17.08.22 Performance

Ever since their most earliest of days, The North Face have always set about pushing the boundaries within performance and the outdoors. This has led them to being a go to brand for everything and anything ‘outdoors’. This has often led the brand into exploring new directions such as artist collaborations.

For their latest set of trail running products, they set about doing just this with their VECTIV offering.

Teaming up with Spanish artist and all round outdoor enthusiast, Fernando Elvira, the painter has created a unique print that takes over the upper of the latest VECTIV trail running collection. Each piece is adorned with symbols that represent a thought, a moment in time in the mind of a runner along the trails.

‘The peaks and valleys, highs and lows, dead-ends and new beginnings.’

To celebrate the launch, we headed out to Annecy, France with Jesse Alexandra and Henry Knock to take on the peaks that surround the lake of Annecy to see just what this latest offering from The North Face is all about!

The North Face Elvira pack is now also available to shop online at Footpatrol, click here to check it out!

ON Running ‘Hidden Gems’ Pack | Available Now!

17.08.22 General

For a while now, we at Footpatrol have been on the hunt for some hidden gems within the sneaker industry but now, it seems that wait is finally over with thanks to ON.

Having been founded in 2010, you could say ON are still a relatively new brand within the world of footwear however, this hasn’t stopped them from taking it by storm. Founded by Olivier Bernhard, David Allemann and Caspar Coppetti, ON was born with the need and want to find the perfect running sensation which has led to the brands unique and frankly eye-catching Cloud technology.

Now 12 years later, ON look back at their roots and it’s Swish Engineering with the ‘Hidden Gems’ pack. Kicking things off with the trail running Cloudultra Flourite. Suited for all-terrain and off-road running, this particular iteration focusses on the hidden gemstones and minerals that can be found within the Swiss mountains. Reinforced with lightweight TPU, its ultra-breathable, ultra-clean two layer mesh upper is finished off with a burst of colour that links back to those hidden gems.

What colourway do you prefer?

Some of you may remember when we caught up with Izaak Brandt, the brains behind the amazing ‘Deadstock‘ art work that took the idea of sneaker collections and turned them into the art pieces that collectors see them as.

Last week, Brandt unveiled his latest solo exhibition, ‘Hooked’. Only his second ever solo exhibition, ‘Hooked’, curated by Marta Orsola Sironi, is an eye-catching collection of paintings, sculptures that all put an emphasis on status symbols and the idea of being hooked, even addicted on such things.

adidas Originals NMD S1 ft. Kwaku Asante & King Kubs

12.08.22 General

First releasing back in 2015, everyone will remember how much demand there was for the NMD. What was a originally a limited release, the NMD R1 continued the trend of offering a super lightweight, comfortable sock like upper with a modern streamlined look and feel.

Reimagining the NMD franchise for 2022, adidas Originals introduced us to the NMD S1. A modern day take on an already futuristic silhouette, you can clearly see a new approach has been taken however, there is a clear DNA in place. With its lightweight upper and contrasting, chunkier midsole, it stays true to the original NMD form. Bringing the NMD into the modern day, the visible BOOST has now become encaged within a sleek, aerodynamic midsole with semi transparent properties that follows through into the Three Stripes on within the Primeknit upper.

To celebrate the launch of the adidas Originals NMD S1 ‘Black’, we put together a special performance with @kwakuxasante & @king_kubs.

Jamie Rodigan, House of St Barnabas Summer Festival | Frequent Players

05.08.22 Frequent Players

With the House of St Barnabas Summer Festival this weekend, we continue to shine a light on those taking part in this weekends festivities. Next up is a name that needs no introduction! Growing up surrounded by music, Jamie Rodigan is the son of legendary radio broadcaster Sir David “Ram Jam” Rodigan who, with thanks to his dad, grow up with a love of reggae.

Once again providing one of his thoughtful and energetic sets to the House of St Barnabas Summer Festival, we sat down with Jamie Rodigan to learn more about his upbringing, his journey through music and of course, he provided Frequent Players with a mix to get us ready for the weekend!

Footpatrol: Hey Jamie ! I just want to start the interview by asking how are you?

Jamie Rodigan: All good thanks!

FP: For people who don’t know how you are and what you do, could you tell us a little bit about yourself?

JR: I am a DJ, label owner and ½ of production duo Crate Classics. I host a monthly radio show on Why Now Radio and play clubs and festivals dates across the world.

FP: When was the first time you realised that you wanted to become a musician?

JR: From quite a young age, probably around 8. I studied piano from then and gradually started to learn other instruments.

FP: When did you first start producing music?

JR: At school we had a room with a computer in the music department and it had Cubase on there. I taught myself how to use the basics. I must have been around 14/15. Then I got a copy of Fruity Loops and I was hooked!

FP: How does it feel to be a Grammy nominated Billboard producer?

JR: Pretty surreal. As a youth I was into underground music – Dancehall, Jungle, Garage etc and I never paid much attention to pop music or accolades. So it’s a nice feeling to be recognised for the work you’ve done in your field especially when it hits mainstream markets.

FP: Could you tell us a little bit about the work you do for ‘Whynowworld’?

JR: I host a monthly show called Jamie Rodigan’s Soundsystem Show. We have a great team of like minded souls deeply into arts & culture. It’s a great platform where I get to share the music I love.

FP: You also have your own record label too right, how did that come about?

JR: Yes, I run Crate Classics Records with Aaron Horn. We started the label 4 years ago and have been steadily building up a catalogue of music and an extended family of artists including Jodian Natty, Pesolife & Trés.

FP: What advice would you give to young people trying to make it in the music industry?

JR: Firstly educate yourself as much as you can around not only music itself but also business practices. Stay true to yourself and your sound. Seek out like minded creatives and build a network around you. And most importantly, don’t give up!

FP: To finish off we would like to thank you so much for the interview. Is there anything you would like to share with the Footpatrol friends and family? That could be anything from getting people excited about something, a message of positivity, whatever you like.

JR: Big up the Footpatrol family and look out for the new Crate Classics single “Rudeboy Sound” ft Jodian Natty dropping August 25th 2022.
