FPRC x Saucony Social Shake Out

10.07.24 GeneralPerformance

Footpatrol Run Club kicked off the first of Saucony’s London 10K’s activities with a Social Shake Out. We had the FPRC family come out in droves, with the opportunity to take the Saucony Endorphin collection out for a spin around the street of Soho.

We had a great atmosphere, not even the rain that joined us on the 6K route could stop us. A series of giveaway products from @saucony_eu and refreshments provided by our sponsors; @liquiddeath, @luckysaint and gels from @appliednutrition.

Wishing our FPRC runners and the rest of the participants the best of luck for Sunday’s Saucony London 10k!

On Track Nights – Night of the 10K PBs

24.05.24 GeneralPerformance

#OnTrackNights London Night of the 10K PBs, a yearly event that brings together passers-by and running enthusiasts alike. A day running festival that gets faster year on year with some of the most elite athletes racing

FPRC had the pleasure to go down and watch the day’s events unfold with On Running and it was safe to say we weren’t left disappointed! With a host of family centric activities, food & drink and track side tunnels which lit up the races as the day progressed into night. The Night of the 10k PBs was fast, furious, and energetic as ever!

Hosted at Hampstead Heath Athletics Track, runners were almost levitating round the bends with the first race of the day finishing in a staggering 31:06:10.

As the night the sun came down the Mens and Women’s British Olympic Qualifiers began. A spectacular performance from Megan Keith punched in her ticket to the Paris Olympics, speeding across the finish line with a time of 31:03.02. Whilst the mens race was comfortably won by Mohammed Ismael finishing his race with 27:22.38.

Congratulations to all the athletes that took part. A great day for running and we look forward to next year!

Here’s a roundup of what went down.

Nike Air Zoom Alphafly NEXT% ‘Fast Pack’ | Now Available!

05.04.22 Performance

For their latest release dubbed the ‘Fast Pack’, the Nike Air Zoom Alphafly NEXT% is one of those products that does exactly what it says on the tin… Consisting of a number of their top runners, the Alphafly is by far their most elite option.

The recipe is simple, ultra cushion, reactive and of course lightweight. How did they achieve it? Starting at the top, the Atomknit is a new innovation from Nike that’s moved on from the traditional Flyknit and brings a tad more sturdiness to the upper. Underneath continues with the innovations by taking the Air Zoom Vaporfly NEXT% and upping the ante. The stack height is larger with even more ZoomX foam, a carbon plate still sits built within the midsole for that ultra responsiveness whilst not stopping their, Nike call upon their history with Air by incorporating two Air Pods under the forefoot. This all adds up to become a shoe that loves taking on personal bests!

To finish things off, the Alphafly now comes in a burst of Hyper Violet which with its black staggered outsole against the white ZoomX foam, it definitely lives up to its name ‘Fast pack’.

Introducing Hoka to Footpatrol!

11.02.22 Performance

We love it when a new brand is added to the Footpatrol brand list and for 2022, we welcome Hoka to our offering. A relatively new brand to the running scene having been founded in 2009, it hasn’t taken long for Hoka to burst on to the scene with a range that spans across running and lifestyle. Their aim? To go faster… How can they go faster whilst improving how a runner performs.

With this overriding goal in mind, Hoka have also found themselves burst on to the lifestyle scene thanks to their extreme comfort levels but also, the aesthetic. With fashion weeks becoming more and more filled with trail sneakers and a more utilitarian approach to design, Hoka along with the likes of Salomon have found themselves a regular feature.

To introduce the brand to Footpatrol, some of the team took the Hoka Clifton 8 on to the streets of London to check out their durability, running abilities and overall comfort to see what all the fuss is about!

Ultra lightweight and with supreme levels of cushioning, the Clifton 8 manages to deliver a more responsive feel with the same characteristics as previous models. With it’s new midsole compound in place, it not only provides that energy needed but also firm enough to feel secure.

Take a closer look below and make sure to check out HOKA online at Footpatrol!

Nike Air Zoom Alphafly & Tempo NEXT% | Available Now!

06.01.22 Performance

New year, new you…?

Maybe that new you is to hit the streets racking up the miles, we’re talking about running by the way! At Footpatrol, we pride ourselves on delivering the latest footwear in any category and we love to see the latest and greatest in running technology come to light.

With the boundaries of what’s possible in running being pushed each year it seems, we take a look at the latest colour ways on offer from Nike’s Running department. For their latest offering of the Air Zoom Alphafly & Tempo NEXT%, each is coated in an eye-catching ‘Barely Volt’ that brings a vintage runner feel to these futuristic looking silhouettes.

When you think of the Alphafly NEXT%, you can almost think of it as the brother to the already well known Vaporfly NEXT%. Both being Nikes premium racers, the Alphafly took things up another gear with the addition of two Zoom Air pods sitting underneath the forefoot whilst still incorporating the Carbon plate. It was also a prototype edition of the Alphafly NEXT% that helped Eliud Kipchoge beat the 2 hour time barrier for a marathon…

Whereas you can save the above two for race day, the Tempo NEXT% on the other hand is the perfect training shoe. Built for those who want to experience a faster shoe and build up to a race, the Tempo NEXT% is a great shoe to grab for your daily runs. To cause less stress on the legs, both of the fits utilise a Carbon Plate and two Zoom Air Pods however the Tempo NEXT% opts for a less rigid plate allowing for the foot to build strength whilst training. If this combination of propulsion wasn’t enough though, both are packed with ZoomX foam for ultimate cushioning.

Both styles are now available to shop online at Footpatrol here!
