Footpatrol Paris | Now Open

07.08.18 General

May 2018, Paris. Footpatrol opened their second store at 45 Rue du Temple, located in the historic Le Marais district, a stone’s throw away from the famous Pompidou building which is said to have inspired the design of the Nike Air Max 1.

Footpatrol’s original store resided at the heart of Central London’s Soho district, in St Anne’s Court from 2002, relocating to its current home on Berwick Street in 2010.

“Soho has always been our home, and with the opening of our new Parisian store, we wanted to find a location that carried similar characteristics and charisma of Soho, and for our new customers, to offer the same environment as London, a destination for like-minded enthusiasts to meet, experience and discuss what we all love most – sneakers!” John Brotherhood – Footpatrol

“Paris has always stood out to us as a key city, it’s the capital of some of the world’s biggest fashion houses and a number of amazing streetwear boutiques. In a way, it has many resemblances to London yet it remains unique and true to its roots. With Parisians very much having their own unique sense of style and identity. We are really excited to join the amazing Parisian retail landscape and look forward to welcoming all through our small, but inviting store!”– Jimmy Horrocks – Footpatrol.

Designed by London based architectural design studio; Counterfeit Studio. The space is a modest 470sq ft unit featuring grey earthy tones and exposed brick throughout. We also wanted to pay homage to ‘The Hut’ from our London store and bring it to Paris we did this through the implementation of a suspended galvanised steel fin ceiling referencing the pitched roof silhouette of London. Combined with the rear mirror gives an abstract infinity feel to the space. Our infamous Gas-Mask neon has also been transformed to be the centrepiece of our Paris store, being reproduced in a clean white neon encased in an ‘infinity’ mirror it further plays with the illusion of depth within the store.

The concrete walls and floor provide an industrial contrast to the patina of the original Parisian stone wall. Fiberglass has been used to produce the shelving units which have taken a fresh and clean approach with the addition of under shelf lighting to really let the product take centre stage. Applying the same resourceful approach to utilitarian materials, the oversized steel girder style benches and the cash desk have also been produced out of the same fibreglass material.

From the outside the store had a striking black storefront reminiscent of the London store, allowing the consumer to focus on what lies inside: a clean, modern and minimal space dedicated to sneakers.

Footpatrol Paris will be stocked with top-tier product from well-known sportswear brands including Nike, adidas, Puma, Converse, Vault by Vans & more, plus a selection accessories from brands such as retaW, BE@RBRICK, and Jason Markk. It will also be housing Footpatrol’s own in-house designed apparel, as well as its own special projects and collaborations.

Air Jordan 1 High OG ‘Shattered Backboard’ 3.0

23.10.17 General

The black and orange colour blocking is familiar as far as traditional holidays go in particular with Halloween but in Jordan Brands history it’s related to Michael Jordan’s backboard shattering dunk whilst participating in an exhibition game in Trieste, Italy. Whilst wearing a jersey with black, orange and white colours as well as “Chicago” AJ1s on foot MJ simply took a powerful dunk to the rim and in turn shattered the glass backboard.
