World Photography Day Competition with Pay Your Shooter

Last year, we teamed up with Vans for a celebration of World Photography Day and we’re excited to announce, for ’23, we’ve once again teamed up to celebrate this day of creation with the inclusion of Pay Your Shooter. To launch this latest competition, we invited photographer Eisa Bakos down to the store to reveal this years prize.

At Footpatrol we’re all huge fans of photography and hopefully, our rollouts show this display of love for all things photography. The craft, level of detail and the individual qualities that comes from each photographer makes it a medium with endless possibilities and now its time to share yours!

Vans World Photography Day Competition Terms and Conditions

By taking part in this promotion you accept and agree to these terms and conditions. If you do not agree with any of these terms and conditions then you should not take part in the promotion. It is your responsibility to ensure that you review the terms and conditions before entering the promotion. We, JD Sports Fashion plc t/a (“Footpatrol”), recommend that you print and store or save a copy of these terms and conditions for future reference during the promotion. Footpatrol is the promoter of this promotion which is run in conjunction with VF INTERNATIONAL S.A.G.L(“Vans”) and SHOOTERS LIMITED (“Pay Your Shooter”).

This promotion is not affiliated or endorsed with Instagram, Facebook, Twitter or TikTok.  

  1. What can you win?

There will be one (1) winner who will win:

– One (1) Leica Camera;

– One (1) photography workshop to be organised and run by Vans at a time, date and location within the UK to be determined by Vans (the “Vans Workshop”);

– Vans footwear & apparel, at Vans’ discretion;

– Pay Your Shooter apparel to be made up of two (2) t-shirts, 3 (three) pairs of socks and 1 (one) tote bag;

– One (1) one-to-one photography workshop which shall run for one day of up to eight (8) hours and include a shoot experience taken by the winner with Pay Your Shooter (the “PYS Workshop”);

– Footpatrol own-brand apparel chosen by Footpatrol up to the value of £100.

The Prize is subject to availability (including availability of sizes, styles and colours). Footpatrol cannot guarantee that a particular shoe will be available in the winner’s size. The Prize is subject to winner confirmation (i.e. Footpatrol has been able to contact winner and has been able to confirm eligibility). Footpatrol has the right to change, alter or withdraw the promotion or Prize at any time due to any change in any applicable law or any events outside the control of FootpatrolFootpatrol shall not be responsible for any delay, cancellation or rescheduling of the Prize. If any part of the Prize is not claimed (for whatever reason), Footpatrol is under no obligation to supply an alternative prize.

Exchanging any part of the Prize package is strictly prohibited (including, without limitation, in person or online via an online auction website or online resale marketplace). Footpatrol reserves the right to cancel the promotion and withdraw or make void any and all prize elements if this term is not complied with.

2. What is excluded from the Prize?

Travel to and from the Vans Workshop, PYS Workshop, accommodation, refreshments and camera film are all excluded from the Prize. It is the winner’s responsibility to organise and pay for anything excluded from the Prize.

3. Who can enter?

Entrants must be aged 18 years or over and a resident of England, Scotland or Wales, have internet access and be able to verify their identity through a valid and official ID. Entrants must also be able to prove that the Photos submitted are their own work. 

Footpatrol reserves the right to ask the winner to provide proof of age. Employees (and their immediate family) of the Footpatrol group (https://www.footpatrol.com/customer-service/privacy/), or anyone else professionally connected with this promotion are not eligible to enter the promotion. Footpatrol reserves the right (at its sole discretion) to decide if the eligibility criteria are met. If the eligibility criteria are not met, the entry will be invalid. 

4. How to Enter

Entrants can enter the promotion by:

  1. Taking three (3) images in jpeg format (the “Photos“);
  2. Write no more than 250 words about themselves and their work (the “Biography”); and
  3. Email Footpatrol at pr@footpatrol.com and include: (i) the Photos; and (ii) the Biography.

Internet service providers’ fees may apply when accessing the internet. No purchase is necessary to enter the promotion.

By submitting any films or photographs as part of the promotion entrants agree that Footpatrol (and its affiliates) may use any films or photographs uploaded to market and promote the promotion and for general marketing purposes both during the promotion and after the promotion has ended.  Entrants will retain ownership of their copyright in such submissions.Participation is limited to one entry per person only. If more than one such entry is received, only the first entry will be accepted. No responsibility is taken for entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected or incomplete or cannot be delivered or entered for any technical or other reason.

5. Closing Times

The promotion will commence on 19 August 2023 at 09:00 (UK time) and will end on 1 September 2023 at 17:00 (UK time). Any entries received after this date and time will not be valid.

6. How are winners selected?

The entries received will be reviewed by a panel of no less than 3 (three) individuals from Footpatrol, Vans and/or Pay Your Shooter, who will shortlist the entries based on:

Creativity – Is your entry fresh and original?; and

Technical brilliance – Have the images been captured in a way that demonstrates an understanding of the abilities of the camera and the subject?

The winning submission will then be selected from the shortlist by a photographer. The winning entrant will be selected on or before the 8 September 2023 and the winner shall be contacted by Footpatrol on or after 8 September 2023. The decision of Footpatrol is final and binding on all entrants. No correspondence will be entered into regarding the selection of the winner (other than with the winner themselves). The winner will be notified via email on or after 8 September 2023 and the winner must respond to the correspondence from Footpatrol to confirm that they accept their prize. In the event that the winner does not communicate their acceptance of the Prize within five (5) days Footpatrol reserves the right to pick another winner (in accordance with the procedure set out in this section) and the original winner will waive their rights to the Prize.

7. Winners’ Responsibilities

It is the winner’s responsibility to: (i) organise and pay costs for anything excluded from the Prize, including travel to and from the Vans Workshop, the PYS Workshop, refreshments and any accommodation; (ii) complete all stages of the How to enter section above; (iii) provide accurate contact details including address; (iv) provide valid proof of age or other eligibility criteria, which is required to enter the promotion; (v) adhere to local laws in the UK; (vi) comply with any rules, instructions, requirements, terms and conditions or regulations of the event organiser; (vii) bring a working camera (including any required film, lenses, battery and/or chargers) to the PYS Workshop and Vans Workshop for use in the workshops. Footpatrol will not be liable to the winner or any other persons where they fail to comply with such responsibilities and any such failure may result in forfeiture of the Prize.

9. Publicity

By taking part in the promotion, entrants may be invited to participate in publicity at Footpatrol’ request if they are a winner of the promotion. Entrants agree that Footpatrol (or any third party nominated by Footpatrol) may in its sole discretion use their comments relating to the Prize and their experience for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes in any media worldwide without notice and without any fee being paid (including for the avoidance of doubt when responding to any third party).  Any use of images or other personal information that could identify entrants will be subject to the entrants’ consent.

Footpatrol reserves the right to withdraw the Prize (or any part of it) if a winner breaches any of the terms in these terms and conditions or if they are found to have acted in a dishonest or fraudulent manner.

10. Which law applies to this promotion?

This promotion is governed by the law of England and Wales and the participants of the promotion submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in England and Wales.
