Mixing components from both the Air Jordan II and Air Force II, this bulky basketball shoe breaks ground with noticeable lack of Swoosh and faux snakeskin running along the side and the tongue. Ace Hotel’s contemporary and minimal approach to the hotel game is re-appropriated in their latest collaborative effort with Converse.

The Pro leather high silhouette adopts a clean and minimal design approach, much like the interiors seen throughout the boutique hotel’s numerous locations. The muted ‘Castlerock Black’ colourway aims to carry through Shoreditch’s dark, moody, overcast nights as a high-grade grey leather dominates the design, with touches of black suede completing the look. Perforated ‘A’s appear through the shoe’s inner lining, proving that the finer details have been taken into consideration. Tonal lacing and duel branding also feature.

Adding to their list of collaborations for 2013, Boston’s Bodega introduces this Classic Leather Lux “U.S.B.D.G.A”.

A considerably heavily designed shoe, Bodega takes the Classic Leather Silhouette and adds a military theme throughout. The primarily canvas upper focuses on an all-over desert camouflage pattern, a nod to specialized military divisions. A mustard yellow toe box alongside a brown hue heel counter polarize the camouflaged mid panel. Completing the look are the blue insoles and lining that contrast the upper, as a printed foot bed featuring “Killer Bees Stingers” continues the dominant military theme.

Nike Sportswear continue to break innovative boundaries with this Nike Air Force 1 Downtown Hi QS “Hologram”.

The mainly white upper features an all white, premium leather construction, for the most part. The classic basketball silhouette’s key feature though is the detachable velcro Swoosh that resides in its usual location. The removable trademark logo features a Hologram-esque iridescent colourway, contrasting nicely against the aforementioned white leather. Other features include heel branding, ankle strapping and Air Sole unit.

Often referred to as ‘sand and rust’, the UK military camouflage print is one that ranks amongst some of the most iconic. Nike picks up on this classic all over print design, as they bring their ‘Country Camo’ collection to a close.

The brown/cream all over print across the UK’s ‘Country Camo’ offering is a welcome variation, away from the dominant forest green colourways seen throughout the ‘Italian’ and ‘German’ releases, to name a few. The drop includes two styles, an Air Max 90 SP and an Air Max 95 SP. Tonal camouflage features throughout both models upper, midsole, tongue and lining whilst the Union Flag can be seen stitched into the insoles.

With nostalgia running through our veins, we would like to introduce our 90’s inspired Reebok Classic Leather Mid ‘On the Rocks’.

Casting back to the day when the intended purpose of a shoe was irrelevant – a time when colourways played an integral role in choosing your footwear – with silhouettes created to satisfy the eye as well as the foot. The Reebok Classic Leather Mid R12 embodies this story. Formed from the monumental silhouette that is the Reebok Classic, this model quickly became a staple shoe for the British youth in the 90s, creating an almost cult-like following amongst an entire generation. The Reebok Classic Mid made its’ first appearance in the mid 90s as an updated version of its namesake’s original low version. Mid and high cut trainers were popular at the time and the Classic Mid seemed to fit comfortably in this territory.

When the Classic Leather Mid silhouette became an option to collaborate on, we didn’t need to see any other models, as this was one we’d been wanting to work on for quite some time! Working on this silhouette proved quite a challenge due to the simplicity of the shoe and we wanted to add our own stamp without ‘overdoing’ it.

We were given a rough idea of when the shoe would release, which began to shape the theme for the project. We liked the idea of playing with contrast colours seen throughout a lot of ‘old school’ hiking footwear and this is where we decided to roll with the Brown Malt/Purple combined nubuck & mesh upper. For high visibility 3M material flecks were added to the five set of cord laces included. The D-Ring loops make for quick and easy lacing and also matches the black midsole. The gravel coloured sole unit features a translucent purple strip running through the centre of the outsole. The Reebok brand logo is embroidered in purple on the medial side, whilst the dual-branded mash up logo features on the tongue label. The FP bar logo sits underneath the mountain peaks on both heels, whilst the Thinsulate insulation lining will keep you warm in the coming winter months.

This Jordan V ‘Oreo’, hits shelves this week, continuing the brands popular ‘OREO’ colourway.

Previous versions of the shoe, including the “Fear” and “Black Grape” linking back to noticeable themes such as ad campaigns and an OG colourway flip respectively, where as the brand’s most recent offering does not. A combination of black, white and grey completes the shoe, with a mix of classic Jordan features; a suede upper, white midsole featuring speckled detailing and mesh side panel.

The Torsion Allegra has become a favored offering from adidas in recent times and this offering from Mita loudly re-appropriates the model.

The Japanese store has had its hand in a few collaborations this year, notably it’s take on the New Balance 580 and unlike that effort, Mita’s Torsion Allegra features noticeable pops of colour throughout. The shoe’s upper consists of a beige suede toe box, black suede across the midfoot, whilst green plastic eyestays draw the attention of the eye, with a green colourway, with the same green features along the lining and outsole also.

Camouflage designs have been ever present throughout this year’s releases and with the year drawing to a close, the military inspired print shows no signs of slowing down.

This Reebok Classic Leather release sees Florida’s Shoe Gallery smack a hit of a vibrant pink across the toe box, layered atop of a fully camouflaged upper. A brown tab, featuring Reebok branding, is stitched into the tongue as the standard issue Reebok logo features in the same colour, across the side panel. Tonal laces also feature.
