Debuting its unmistakable fit in 1964. The Clarks Wallabees, a distinctive member of the Clarks Originals collection, has teamed up with Brooklyn based waffle house Sweet Chick for a modern iteration of the iconic silhouette. Under the creative provision of Clarks creative director Paolo Gabrielli, the waffle-inspired moccasin fit is one of many collaborations this year that sports an idiosyncratic spin on the beloved originals.
Sweet Chick, a well-renowned fried chicken and waffle restaurant based in New York was founded by John Seymour in 2013 and was later backed by the legendary rapper NAS in 2015. The restaurant became such a popular franchise that it turned into a chain of stores across the US and imminently one in London. Clarks Originals collaboration with Sweet Chick is quite unconventional- playing homage to their staple waffles- an all time favourite American snack.
Solidifying its unique and cultural collaboration this year, the British born shoe brand has opted for an unorthodox spin on their classic Wallabee silhouette. The newborn Clarks Originals x Sweet Wallabee pairing indulges in a hairy suede moccasin composition, to mimic the waffles whilst diamond detailing perforates the vamp for added waffle like texture. What’s more, an added front lace closure for a snug and secure fit, with added embroidered stitching around the toe cap for an eloquent touch. The unique fit is rounded up with a wedge crepe rubber sole for durability, comfort and an authentic Clarks finish. The timeless design is previewed in two colourways, Brown/Red and Natural/Green for ultimate taste to your Clarks footwear rotation.
